About the Global Moving Foundation
Committed to Professional Development in Global Moving
The Global Moving Foundation (GMF) is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to fostering professionalism in the global moving industry. Our goal is to help moving professionals around the world learn, grow, and succeed – building a stronger industry for everyone.

The Global Moving Foundation is committed to helping the global moving industry recruit, retain and empower talent.
As part of this mission, the Foundation has launched the Skill-based Learning Award as a pilot project in 2025 to support industry professionals pursuing training aimed at improving their expertise and skills in the global moving industry, including vocational programs, skill-based courses, or industry certifications. Awardees can receive up to 50% reimbursement of course costs (maximum $2,000 per student) upon successful course completion.
Applications are open to individuals worldwide and accepted in multiple languages. By fostering continuous learning and industry excellence, the Global Moving Foundation aims to build a skilled and resilient workforce for the future.
Open to learners across all roles and experience levels in the global moving industry. From hands-on technical training to leadership and professional development, awards are available on a rolling basis to help you grow your skills and advance your career. We encourage anyone passionate about the industry to apply.
The Wohlstetter Academic Awards
We are proud to offer the Wohlstetter Academic Awards, sponsored by the Global Moving Foundation (GMF), supporting students and global moving industry professionals worldwide, including employees of IAM member companies and their dependents! The application period will be open from January 1 to March 31.
Named for distinguished International Association Movers founder and General Counsel Emeritus Alan F. Wohlstetter, the Wohlstetter Academic Awards benefit the employees of IAM member companies and their dependents, as well as students worldwide.

Industry Training Program

The Global Moving Foundation's Industry Training Program (ITP) provides up to $500 per person annually to help moving and relocation professionals access quality training — at any skill level, anywhere in the world.
Available exclusively to members of ITP Partner organizations.
Industry Training Program
Open to global moving industry learners affiliated with ITP-approved training providers (EuRA, FIDI, IAM, LACMA and WERC), including employees, dependents, and student members. There are NO LIMITS to applicants per company. Apply today—it’s quick and easy.
