Wohlstetter Academic Awards
Looking for a way to fund your education? The Global Moving Foundation proudly offers the Wohlstetter Academic Awards, supporting students and global moving industry professionals worldwide, including employees of IAM member companies and their dependents. Apply between January 1 and March 31 for your chance to receive this merit-based academic award!
The Wohlstetter Academic Awards honor Alan F. Wohlstetter, one of the founding members of the International Association of Movers and General Counsel Emeritus, who was passionate about the global moving industry and education.
Since its launch in 2002, the Global Moving Foundation (formerly the Alan F. Wohlstetter Scholarship Fund) has awarded more than 146 merit-based academic awards of $5,000 USD. Students come from different countries, cultures, companies, and backgrounds.
Who Can Apply?
Graduating high school/secondary school students or current college students enrolled in an accredited college/university for the upcoming semester
IAM member employees, dependents of an IAM member employee, and student members
Students with a minimum 3.0 GPA (or international equivalent)
Students pursuing studies in global moving and mobility, transportation or applicable fields in the industry. (If you're studying medicine or nursing, this scholarship is not applicable to you.)
What You Need to Apply
Three personal insight responses (250-500 words each)
Unofficial transcript
Resume/CV/work history
Proof of college/university enrollment (for selected recipients only)
Apply in multiple languages (English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Korean, Russian, or German)
No IAM affiliation? Apply as an IAM Student Member (no fee required) to participate. Student members must be enrolled in 6+ credit hours.

The Wohlstetter Academic Awards Selection Committee will select recipients based upon the merit of each applicant. Award decisions will be made no later than the end of June. For selected US recipients, the Foundation will send funds directly to your school's bursar office. For selected non-US recipients, we will work with you directly to determine how best to disburse the funds.
